Hey guys! I’m trying to replace my shifter base bushings and in order to access the last one I needed to remove the shifter cable. We detached the white clip and turned the black piece about a full turn counter clockwise and now it seems as if it’s stuck and I can’t get the shifter cable out or the black piece to spin at all.

They are a pain because you have to hold the white clip back while turning. Also theres not a lot of space to get leverage. Just keep working at it, you have to turn it all the way until it stops before you can get it out of the holder.
Have you already disconnected the end of the cable from the shifter?

Saw you posed on the other forum, but essentially the locking collar can snaps back into place with full force from the spring, and if this happens then the collar will become tougher to loosen up again. Try using a set of pliers or channel locks with light pressure to release the locking collars once more.
