Hi when I'm braking and I dont go to a complete stop, the transmission seems to get confused and then upshifts and downshifts soon after, it also makes a noise when it shifts. is this normal and is there any fix to this? is this putting wear and tear on the transmission? PS:I know this happens when im adjusting how much force i put on the brake pedal so I dont stop too early or too late.

What kind of noise? If you're driving in the city you could try sticking it into D3 to limit it to gears 1-3.

I don't know how to describe it, but it sounds like a shifting noise because it sounds similar to this when I'm shifting from D to P Or D to R. I know this might be a stupid question, but would D3 be bad to use for long periods of time just in the city?

Ive noticed the same noise too especially in parking lots where you accelerate a little bit then lightly press the brakes

Hmmm.... 2012 car manual says its only for towing and hills. All I know is I used to use it as long as I was going under around 40mph. Transmission shifted less and I liked the feel.

D3 probably hurts fuel economy if anything.
