Bump,

I'd still like to see how this can be done on a 2013 non-Navi Civic while still retaining backup camera functionality.
Update: I don't log on very often so sorry for the delayed response. I hooked this up for my friends wifes car that has a buckup camera but no navigation. It's a million times easier. All I did was spliced the dvd video wire onto the signal wire from the camera to the i-Mid. You don't have to add pins because they are already there. Then I still ran the toggle switch to a separate 12v source so I can switch the screen on for the player. The only issue is the toggle switch has to be off when you back up. If it's still on and you go into reverse both images try to go onto the screen at the same time and you are unable to see anything really. Hope this helps.

Hey i got an 2013 Si with the navigation panel, and i have try to put my old playstation 2 instead of my backup camera, i have almost done it, but i got 2 problem, the first one is the guide line from the backup camera, its not a big deal, and im sure it come from the deck itself so there no way to remove it. Still looking good tho.
and my second problem is that i can't find a way to bypass the signal for the backup camera, ive found the wire, its the brown one but even if i send him a external current the image won't show up... anybody got an idea?

Instead of a straight splice onto that wire, you need to build an active switch.
This way when the reverse lights come on, it changes your iMID to the reverse camera, but otherwise it displays your alternate video feed.
I will design a little circuit and do a DIY thread in the coming months

Prometheus,

I have a 2013 with the back up camera coming on the navigation screen not the imid display. Do you have any advice on how to make this hack work with my setup?

I just tried it on my 2015 Civic Si with Navi. It doesn't work. Most probably the pinning is different, or the ping are not even connected. Attaching some photos.
I did connect everything as ADExternal sugested. Even tried to hook it up to a TV to confirm the camera is not dead, all good. It works on the TV. On the car, when you turn on the "Camera" from the i-MID menu, it is not able to see the video stream from it.

What I'm trying to achieve:
  • the car already has the display hooked up to the rear camera, and to the lane-watch (blind-spot) camera. There is a button on the end of the turn indicator control.
  • I want to install a front view camera, and dispay the video from it on the i-MID display at the same time with the lane-watch one. So, when I'm parking, I can trigger it (by pressing the button on the end of the turn indicator control), then on the i-MID I'll see the front view and on the main display I'll see the side (blind-spot) view.

Anybody did anything similar, or has the diagramm of the 2015 Si i-MID?

Found the actual pinout for the i-MID on the 2015 civic Si 4door. But it doesn't list the pin description for the ones which don't have wires in them.

As you can see, it doesn't mention "camera" at all.

So, most probably those pins are disconnected from the inside, or they even don't have the correct hardware to enable the features.
