After 180k miles on my 15 si,I’ve decided to install flashpro. It’s just a relflash for now with rev hang disabled, launch control set to 3k rpm’s, vtec from 5k-5500.

This is all in preparation of scca time trial s6 rules. The only thing I’m missing are lowering springs which I’m not going to do unless I get another pair of front struts.

It runs fine. I think it feels smoother power delivery wise. My gf sat with me and was surprised at how smooth the car was when doing pulls compared to the stock tune.

Nice! That’s what I like to hear - by the time I’m able to afford Hondata it’ll be another year before I can afford a tune 😝

Dug into it today. Valve head cover is off, adjusting valve clearances and replacing gaskets. 2013 Si about 95k. Spent probably an hour messing around with the intakes on the 1st cylinder and just trying to get a feel for it before moving on. Hoping to finish it up tomorrow. FWIW gaskets seem fine, nothing is brittle, but replacing them anyway because I might as well.

What did you do this for if you don’t mind my asking? Just general maintenance on high mileage motor or was something wrong?
How difficult has it been to adjust valve lash/clearance? Also what all did you have to remove to get to this point? - I don’t feel like you have to remove much to get the valve cover off right?

Just something that I wanted to do for preventative maintenance. You have to take off the wipers, cowl, metal guard/support under the cowl, and then you have good clearance to dig into the valve cover. I ended up adjusting everything today, and putting it back together. Every single valve seemed too tight, which I thought was strange. I adjusted everything and put it all back together. When I ran it a couple hours later, it had pretty noisy ticking. Disappointing, but I'm ok with failing before I get something right. So I'll probably end up getting back in there tomorrow and re-doing it a little tighter. My biggest regret is putting it entirely back together before testing it. Oh well!

Damn! That sucks. But you're learning. I'm due for a tune up and was thinking of doing a valve adjustment as well, but then I read it's only necessary if "they're noisy". I rather not dig into it if I don't have to.
