Hi looking for some advise. I have just bought a 2016 UK spec Civic EX tourer estate and wondered if anybody had one with a stock sub fitted in the boot? There are a lot of second hand ones for sale in the uk and wondered if my car may have the wiring loom installed already and it might be a case of plug and play?

Honda isn't kind enough to leave us wiring.
You'd need the factory spec amplifier with the sub out.
Best look there first.
NOW ,none of us might be able to truly help in this department as you guys get a different layout than we do,but check above your knees under the dash area. The amplifer "should" be there ,by most of our cars standards. If there's an amp then chances are you can attach the sub out. But brings me to my next question. Why?
Why not just tap the rears with an LOC and do your own sub and wiring. The stock output is peanuts.

Hi thanks for coming back to me, the stock sub comes in a housing that I was going to upgrade the speaker to see if it was sufficient to make any difference. You are right though doing the job properly is going to be the best option.(y)

For those needing some context on this video, the idea is that RCA's will be the signal out of the head unit run through the vehicle into the amp, then the power out of the amp will run back up to the dash on your own speaker wires and plug into the factory harness which will then carry the power back throughout the vehicle to the door speakers using factory wiring.. thus completely bypassing the head unit's built in amp and wiring and eliminating the work involved in running your own wires from the amp to each door speaker yourself.
