Adding paddle shifting to the Si would cost more money, but it would likely be offset by the increase in sales. Performance wise, paddle shifters can be faster. Which is why a lot of high end cars are going in that direction... Plus, most of the people who can afford expensive cars can't drive manual... especially in 'Murica... :)

Back in the day... There are really skilled drivers. Nowadays, more than half of the driving population are either zombies or are really just stupid (and / or irrational).

Low IQ syndrome. Schools exist so students will pass standardized tests instead of getting an education. Results: lack of critical thinking skills or lack of thinking skills period. If they put a mandatory 85 IQ requirement for drivers licenses, half the people on the road wouldn't have licenses and our insurance rates would have to drop. There's a politically incorrect solution to every problem. Just too many politicians. I'll quit for now.

Update from yesterday. One of the salesmen tried to sell me one because apparently they are looking for people with 2012's to trade in.. no thanks I'll keep the one I have right now.

However for first impressions, they sure did their homework, not a 100% A+ 4.0/4.0 job though. The interior is very well done, very premium-feel kind of thing. And the best part is, I actually fit in the back seat!

The steering wheel controls seem a bit plasticky and hard (like those volume control buttons on the iPhone 4 & 4s). You actually have to press the buttons until it makes the clicking sound.

Oh, and the back looks uglier than the pics in real life (in my opinion), even with a deck lid spoiler. :/

You know what's funny, 50% of us saying they're ugly, secretly like 'em and will wind up getting one. I use to say I would never own a car with a CVT, now I have 2. Maybe the new Civic is one of those things that has to grow on you.

10th gen by no means is ugly, it's just don't look like a traditional honda

I just picked up a 2015 SI 2 days ago. The 10th gen looks good but just cannot understand why honda picked suck ugly wheels wow they are just butt-h0le-ugly. I'm glad I picked up my SI and I may trade her in 4-5years down the road for a 10th gen SI who knows. Also I refuse to drive automatic as my car...wifes car sure. This is an interesting video I found I call bull$hite

Same reason the seats are more than horrible; because they do and IMO always have.

Agreed video is a joke show...I think my wifes grandma was driving the SI in that video.

Another benefit to our 2.4 N/A it is not Direct Injection. I just don't think one manufactures has fixed the carbon build up issue 100%. Sure the 2.4L does not have the best gas mileage....at least we don't have to worry about a walnut shortage 5-10 years down the road.

So...a mid 15 second Ex turbo took out a mid/low 14 second Si in Hondata's video?

You can actually launch a CVT with turbo. With your foot on the brake spool the turbo to around 2500-3000RPM and release the brake.

If your looking to sprint from 30-70mph put the car in manual shift mode and shift up to first or second gear and the CVT will jump to the top of the power curve, the CVT in manual shift mode has a safety feature that will not allow the engine to over Rev, it will just take it to the top of the power curve.

I wouldn't recommend doing either but there are ways to make the car a little quicker than it actually is.
