Electronic parking break is a pro? In what way? Performance wise it's not and reliability it's not either. Never met anyone who uses the handbrake just for parking ever breaking anything. I've heard of many issues with electronic parking breaks
No, no... said one of the things that turns me off... I absolutely loathe electric parking brakes. Think it's one of the worst things to come out on modern cars. A leaver and a cable is so much simpler and much more enjoyable!

Agreed.

However, taken from design, manufacturing and cost purposes, it's far easier to package a switch, stepper motors and wires.
Than making space for the lever assembly, cables and caliper hardware.

Cost reduction is why all cars down to the base models have power locks and windows... it requires fewer parts, which reduces the cost of parts and manufacturing, to just make them all the same.
