Has anyone installed this Joying headunit? It has a nice factory look, won't stick out, and connects easily to factory connections.

Benefits are
wireless android auto Apple carplay
Bigger screen
I can used side camera again
Google integrated so non android auto apps can be used

Heres a demo video:

anyone have any experience with any newer Joying installed on Honda? I see they generally update the Android systems. Currently has android 12 or 13 being shipped out. I wonder if the imid will still be partially functional or perhaps become fully functional again?

I currently own a buggy Sony XAV-AX700 and I'm not a big fan of it due to some power issues when it's turned up to the highest

I've seen multiple YouTube videos with these Installed and people seem to like them.

I own an EX-L

I have one installed, it's nice unit and covered many features but there's a few caveats.

1- Not real Android 12. I was really bummed to find that out after the fact. Eonon has a comparable unit for $200 less with genuine 13. (More one that at the bottom)

2- It does work with LaneWatch, but I could only get it to work with the blinker a couple times before setting my CanBus box. YMMV

3- They don't give clear instructions on the "plug and play" install with LaneWatch

4- Can't get the reverse dynamic track to work

5- The OS is severely modified and locked down

The Eonon unit is a "BMW" headunit, but youcan simply unscrew the head unit and place it into a 9th Gen Android faceplate, you would need to souurce the correct harness somewhere else as Eonon doesnt have any head uunits for Honda's but their top model is only $299 but its 6gb/64gb not 8gb/128gb but it is exactly what theu say it is unlike Joying. It also lacks a physical volume knob.

Overall the Joying has been a pleasant upgrade just wish I knew about some of these issues before hand.

Hey thanks man.

Hey thanks so much for your experience.

You gave me a few things to think about.
Now with Joying, I'd have to be ordering from China and if theres any issues that'll be hell to deal with, as opposed to ordering an Eonon directly from amazon. So i'd add that as another caveat.

You didnt mention the size or provide a link for the Eonon. I actuly sold the stock headunit along with the bezel/faceplate that the Civic came with years ago. I guess that wasnt smart. What size was the Eonon screen you mentioned?
I found this 10" Eonon head unit and maybe this headunit bezel will work with it.

I'll look more into this, thanks!

Hi. I've tried the Joying headunit and yes, it is a nice upgrade, unless you also want better sound quality. In that case get a nice Pioneer, Sony, Kenwood or JVC with Carplay Android-Auto and iDatalink Maestro. Buy the Maestro device and harness and installing the whole thing is way too easy.

This have been by far a better audio upgrade for me; experience and sound quality. You can get it all at Crutchfield, returnable and with help and support from them. The maestro unit is very easy to setup including wheel controls config in the process.

If possible upgrade your speakers too. I was on a budget and the Hertz UNO Series X-165 6.5 were awesome for the price.

Thanks. I apologize I should've done a better job giving the background. I currently have the SONY XAV A7000 which has already been removed from the center. I received the Eonon headunit today and I'm awaiting the harness for the android headunit.

Things I didnt like about the Sony XAV AX7000 with built-in Amp. Firmware upgrade was a pain in the ass. Small 7" screen. The usb connection would shut off plenty times as the unit got hhoter due to the built-in amp. The unit blacked out at times, and Im not sure what the conditions are which causes it. If music is too loud it would just shitnoff. Low resolution. No android bypass to get around android auto. The usb connection (android auto) was sometimes unreliable, and I've tried multiple cables.

Yes I upgraded all 6 speakers around 2017 to the Alpine SPS-610 and 610C sets. Hopefully the difference in sound isn't that bad, because that was the ONLY benefit of the AX7000 i can imagine at this point.

I'll do my best to document the process and post it here if anyone cares.
My concerns now are with this new harness designed for specifically for my ex-l with the large screen.
1. Hopefully the connectors are compatible with the Eonon HU because they dont make one.
2. Proper connection to the aftermarket reverse camera. I'll have to find and rewire
3. Compare the OEM mic to the one I installed with the Sony.
4. Choose the best antenna, OEM vs Eonon, and properly wiring it via their harness
5. Finding a spot for the GPS antenna, bluetooth and 4g antennas.

If it all works I'll have to finally epoxy the vent onto the replacement bezel because it only has 2 of 3 mounting brackets so the vent is not securely mounted.

I'll also have to dremel and do small modding to the upper right corner of the dash where it can't currently slide in due to larger screen.
