Weather tech floor liners are the best mats you can buy. I wouldn't recommend anything but them.

 

Ditto. WeatherTech floor liners or nothing IMO.

I had the OEM mats on my 2012 for a brief time. They are good quality but good luck cleaning up if you live in a region that sees messy winters.

 

I like my oem all weathers for my si.To me they might not be as good as the weather techs but they do what they're supposed to.When the better weather comes I'll take them
out and put my si mats back in.It's the price that would be the deciding factor with me.If you could find either at a good price,that's what I would go with.JMO

 

i got the OEM driver/passenger/rear all-weather mats with my '15 si... they are amazing. i take them out once a week to spray them off (i vacuum out my carpets while i wait for them to dry) and then wipe them down with detail wipes.

i even got the trunk liner. good shit. seriously, i wouldn't recommend you buy any vehicle without this stuff.

 

Hello, I'm looking into buying some floor mats. I bought the weathertech avm the ones you cut and they are the worst mats ever so im not buying that brand. I was thinking about OEM All weathers for my 14 civic. Does anyone have any experisnce with them? Are these mats real rubber or like the walmart fake type rubber? I also like the aries but cant spend 150 bucks on floor mats.

What exactly don't you like about them? What makes them the worst ever? The material? The fact that you had to trim them to fit? If that, why didn't you get WTs specifically for your car instead of those you have to mutcher?

WT mats are fantastic at keeping your floors clean, and are extremely well made.

I'm still curious if the avm version is the same material as the model-specific WT floor mats which are very good quality.

 

You should get Weather Tech digital fit floor liners.

 

I believe it's the same material as the all weathers. Are he oem honda all weathers real rubber or like the Walmart mats?

I don't know the chemical composition, but their quality is first rate, which would lead me to believe that the cutting of them led to the comment that they are 'the worst.'

But yes, the model-specific laser cut versions are expensive.

Edit: I, personally, would not buy floor liners that I would have to cut, right out the box.

Years ago, when sisal floor mats were the rage, I went to my local auto parts store, and took a set at a time out to my car, and put them in to see if they fit, and then bought the set that fit best.

These days, with so many online outlets to buy model-specific stuff, I would not buy a universal anything without being to see for myself that it works properly in its specific location.

 

I like my Husky Liners mats. A little cheaper the the WT but just as good.

Well I have the carpet ones in the back still and the weathertechs you cut yourself over them which are fine since no one sits there. Do the front weathertechs especially the passenger slide? Also does the driver mat use the factory hooks to they stay put?

I just have the front Weather Techs. The passenger one does not slide and the driver's side one uses the factory retention system.

 

I was also thinking about front only on the Aries 3d liners anyone have used these? The parts manager at the Honda dealer by me said he has the Aries and Honda all weathers and said he likes the Aries better

I originally bought those AVM ones or whatever they are called thinking I would save a buck. They are universal fit so you trim the edges to fit, once trimmed they fit my Si not bad but I wasn't 100% happy with them they didn't protect the edges well at all. They are made from soft rubber and the mat itself is fairly thick. Ultimately went with a set of front and back Weathertech digital fit floorliners and haven't looked back and couldn't be happier.

While they do fit the floor pan flawlessly and are much more durable than the original carpeted floor mats, they just don't do a very good job of containing all of the water, salt and other road grime that comes with the winter weather. So now I have a salt stains around the perimeter of my driver side floor mat. It will be cleaned thoroughly in the spring however I will be sure to buy the weather tech floor liners for the front before next winter.

I'm gonna be honest with you, from what i can tell the WT liners are the exact same dimensions as the OEM all weather mats, and while they look extremely nice and high quality, they do not look like they are gonna contain the dirt and grime any better. I see the shit still going over the sides of the mats regardless of which set you choose- seems like yet another case in which you're paying more just for a popular name brand.

 

I bought the OEM all weather mats as well. While I'm quite happy with them, I like the Honda logo, if I were to do it all over again I would buy the trunk liner from Honda but the digital fit Weather tech mats. The Honda ones seem to just feel cheap for the premium price that you pay for them. 8 months later and it is starting to show wear and tear on the driver's side.

The weather techs seem to have slightly higher walls as well.

 

yeah i was looking at their all-weather mats... definitely 'flat' like OEMS-- i would not bother paying more for those. The Digi Fit ones do look nice though going up the sides, definitely must be worth it if you live with shitty weather. maybe in the future i will wear out my mat enough to warrant spending the money to get the WTs.. but for now the OEMs will do. I vacuum the carpets once a week so im doing a pretty good job of maintaining the condition of the interior.

i could never see myself getting or recommending the backseat WTs though, even the digi fit ones don't 'go up the sides' like the front mats, so unless you want to pay for the sake of having a brand name (or matching, i guess that would drive a lot of people crazy- like having mismatched socks lol)

Actually the WT digital fit mats for the rear also go up the side and have a retainer wall, it just doesn't go as high as the fronts.

 

I am not concerned about a little dirt falling down beyond the edges of the rubber mat. What I am concerned about are my heels grinding dirt into the carpeting, abrading and ruining it in short order. For my purpose, the regular WT rubber mats are fine.

 

Any of you know of lighter floor mats that have the Si badge on them? Would like to protect my carpet but moving to Texas so goodbye NY winter nonsense. WT's look nice but too heavy duty for what I need

 

"Lighter" like in weight, or "lighter" like in color? I don't think you can get any floormats that weigh less than the Si mats already do, and I think anything lighter in color than black or dark gray would get really dirty really quick if it was carpet. The WeatherTechs may be more heavy duty than what you need, but just what you're looking for.

 

Weathertech's have their fair share of problems too. Someone in the car biz told me they see a lot of them where the lip has folded over. People mention that and other problems on Amazon:

I've had my current weathertechs for four Wisconsin winters and have had no problems. My carpet looks just like the day I brought the car home. Properly installed, they should outlast the rest of the car. I just don't see how a molded, rigid price of plastic folds over...

 

I still have my carpet mad but look I saw the all weather Honda mats at the dealer and they look so good... Eventually when my carpet ones go I'll buy the all weathers.. The weathertech mats are a waste of money

I'd like everyone to post updates in three or four years, after you've gone thru four sets of cheap floor mats and your carpets are still trashed. Then tell me how much a "waste" WT floor liners are. You get what you pay for.
Also if you're judging products by their Amazon review scores, make sure the reviews are relevant to the product you're buying. For example, I read thru the one star reviews and damn near all of them have nothing to do with the digi-fit floor liners. Read through the threads here on 9th gen and draw conclusions from them. Not some idiot complaint about how the floor mats don't fit his 2007 Passat. Or how the vendor didn't ship them on time, or they were creased when you took them out of the box.
If you don't want to pay $ for a quality product, then don't- but admit it's because you're cheap.
Weathertech makes a product second to none. I still have the WT floor mats I purchased for my 04 accord. I keep them in my trunk for working on my civic. Beats laying in the dirt any day.
You have a brand new 23000$ car and you're complaining about $150 in floor mats. If you were really concerned with not wasting money, you wouldn't purchase a depreciating asset.
