I was wondering if it was possible to add a glove box light to a 2013 Honda Civic Coupe LX? :woowoo:

I did it in my 2012 Si. Just search for the thread entitled "Magic 5-pin button" or something like that and it will pop up. Basically, like Beeshabo just mentioned, I took the illumination switch and wired it to some LEDs and put some in the glove box along with the footwells.

Welcome to 9th gen, Kolompani.

I just turn on the passenger side map light. Shines right in the opened glove box.

Thanks everyone for welcoming me. :icon_wave:
@spyder560 I did see that DIY It was for the 8thgen where you would get a honda fit or insight's (cannot remember which) glovebox assembly and you would install that now I don't know if you can do that with the 9th gen or even if there is a precut area for a light like the one in 8th gen, hence why I asked my earlier question. The only I want a glovebox light is because It is helpful feature, and by now I thought small things like these are standard on almost all cars, I guess not on the civic though. :sarbsmiley:

Hmm... that gives me an idea. I don't think my 2012 Si has a cutout for a light assembly but now I want to put in a different light than I already have in there. My new plan is to purchase another map light assembly from the MDX (?) that comes with the on/off switch on it. Drill a hole in the glove box somewhere and install it, the run an add-a-circuit to provide constant power and ground the negative somewhere. The light would only come on when the switch was moved to the "on" position so it wouldn't drain the battery.
