Good Head units for 2015 Civic Si?

Hello 9th Gen Civic Community. I recently purchased a 2015 Honda Civic Si with a Nav-less Touch screen head unit. I want to get a Carplay/Android Auto head unit that supports the backup camera and the Lane switch camera. So, here are my questions:

Are double Dins compatible?
Do I need special equipment for the OEM backup camera/lane switch camera to work?

Would love to hear/see what people have come up with

I recommend putting one of these in with double sided tape - see what I did. It allows you to use your existing bluetooth connection to the car (imid, controls still work), plus gives you a carplay screen. It sits perfectly on the flapdoor of the little storage under the climate control.

Welcome and congrats on the Si! Yes, double DIN head units are compatible with the 9th Gen Civic, but you’ll need a few extras:

  • Wiring harness + interface to retain the OEM backup and LaneWatch cameras (Metra or iDatalink make good kits).
  • Dash kit for proper fit and finish.
  • Possibly a relay or module to trigger the LaneWatch camera correctly with your new head unit.

Plenty of folks have done this swap—definitely doable with the right gear. Looking forward to seeing your setup

I would go with the latest 2K resolution 9.5-inch display Android head unit from Mekede or Navifly brand. They require a CAN bus interface box to work with the steering wheel controls and lane switch cameras. Also, these are slim 0-DIN head units that plug directly into the factory wiring harness.

i’ve had this question for such a long time as i
added a lot of music into my car, the stock head unit gave me such a bad buzzing noise. i’ve turned the double din but i really didn’t like it plus you’ll need a lot of extra harnesses to make it work. o recommend going on ali express and buying the anavi one it’s great has no issues and everything is plug and play

never had a issue with my ali express radio
Do not buy cheap units from aliexpress or eBay. You’re asking for issues, whether immediate or down the line. I recommend Kenwood products(I have the DMX809S) as they are reliable and well built. But honestly any double din from alpine, jvc, pioneer, Kenwood should be good
