Hello everyone

I reside in Eastern Europe, Poland. Had owned only Japanese cars in last 7-years - 2 of them, one for me one for the wife. Mitsu and Hondas.

I currently have Civic 8th gen Sedan with R18A2 engine and 6MT, just bought for the wife Civic IX 5AT 1.8 Executive Trim on 40k miles (before we had again IX but with 1.4 engine). The mileage was documented in Authorized dealers in Germany until 2020 (at that time 23k) and sold 1 year ago so I believe its genuine :)

Thank you. It is for wife s daily driving not much for me :) i want to make some soundproofing as it takes too much roadnoise but probably after next winter.

Unfortunately while servicing mechanic replaced the sparks and found carbon deposits on them which seems to be because of burning oil. At the same time, i have found from UK forums 2012 engines had bad piston rings and many people suffered from excessive oil use so, I am trying to return it to the dealer but he s not keen take it back. Couldnt enjoy the purchase long story short

Welcome, nice car.

Try changing the PCV valve before spending bug bucks. A stuck PCV valve can mimic a burning oil issue.

Confirmed with authorized dealer its an oil burner and after a few days of fight, returned it to the seller (luckily)

Bought a 2015 model again with 5 automatic (classic one not CVT) with 40k miles and full dealer history.

It has some rust on subframe but not deep, its inevitable here as winters are harsh and lots of roadsalt.
