The guy was cool and he let me have the software for $50 so I could try it to see if it worked. I mentioned that many people would be interested and he said he would drop $20 off the asking price if you send him an offer with my name( Johan referred me)

I know what you mean, I was too. Thats why I managed to get him to lower it to $50 because I wasn't sure if it was going to work.
I just want to know if it works with the version 1.D200.30 from my Civic EX 2014 Non-Navi Display Audio also.

That guy you said do not mention or have any particular item on Ebay about my Civic model, however he does have an Ebay listing for the Civic 2015 SE.
I had to ask him, so he can confirm if the car's head unit is compatible or not.

If not, i'd buy the CRV head unit then mount it on the car and finally install the update which i have downloaded already.

I'm not sure if it would work with a 2014 headunit. You might have to switch it to the CRV radio like I did. My HRV was running the same version as yours and I tried to plug in the CRV software update and I was getting an error screen.

I just ran a file compare command through command prompt on the version sold to me and the version for CRVs - no difference.
So, you must buy a 2015-2016 CRV EX display audio head unit and install it to your car (do not forget to leave the GPS cable disconnected), @Johan0600 have already shown that our Civics and CRV's display audio have the same connections.

Yeah they have the same connections, but I’m not sure there wouldn’t be any issues. If you dig in the settings on the stock HU you’ll find some very vehicle specific information (VIN, etc.)

I just did the firmware update on my wife's 2016 CR-V. Now I am looking at doing the CR-V head swap on my 2014 Civic. Only thing I am concerned about is the 2014 Si has a factory amp. I have not been able to find anything on the CR-V sites about a factory amp. A NOS CRV head unit is just over $100 on Ebay, so I may just go for it anyway and will report back.

Hey buddy the CRV does have a trim level with an amp and subwoofer. If your civic has the same options than you can get one of those unit. I found a company that sells them for a really good price on ebay. I suggest pulling your radio and looking in the back to see if it has the circled connector. If it does than you have a factory subwoofer and this radio would work on your Civic.

Well, After a bunch of hoops, I have the CRV head running in my Si, mostly...
Looks like I may need to chat with a dealership to get a PIN as I get an odd diagnostic screen that comes up asking for the PIN. I can get out of this screen by pressing and holding Power, Home and eject for 2 seconds and that will drop me into the normal menu. Problem is I have to do this EVERY time I start the car. I tried getting the PIN from radio-navicode but it says the serial number is not valid for my VIN. I also tried using the VIN from my wife's CRV, but get the same error.

Here is the weird diag screen I get in case any one knows how to get rid of it:

02941 is the pin, hit me up on my email. I was a tech for Honda and it looks like you just have to press all the necessary buttons like the call button, hang up, talk, turn on the a/c and put the vehicle in reverse so the head unit can recognize the camera is work. That should take care of everything

WOO! Thanks to suggestions from Johan0600 I have CarPlay in my 2014 Civic Si for less than $150 and while retaining Lane watch, Backup camera, Imid, steering controls and everything.

I will be doing a short write up with my process in a new thread soon.
