I have recently shifted from 15" wheels to 16" on my FB2. Yokohama BlueEarth ES32 215/55/16. Rims are also replaced with Toyota Genuine ones, same PCD 114 x 5.
The issue I am facing is - there is a little humming noise from the rear wheels (to me it sounds from rear-left only). It does not increase with speed, I mean it gets constant after 40 - 50 km/hr.
I went to the Tire shop for the warranty, he changed the rear ones with brand new ones - still, the issue was there. I asked to change rims as well. He changed with Civic X genuine 16" ones - still, the issue was there. I asked him to change the tire brand, he changed to Pirelli - still, the issue was there.
He then said these could be bearings. I changed both rear hubs - still, the issue is there. I then get the rear whole suspension inspected & greasing done in every nut/bolt & bush after disassembling the whole suspension. All rubbers & shocks are 10/10. Got the 3d alignment done as well.
Strangely, if I shift back to 15s, the humming vanishes immediately.
What could be the problem? Does this have anything to do with camber? Everyone that I have got it checked so far is saying that it's due to upsizing tire! I doubt that. Because I can see you mostly using 17s & 18s. Or is that true?
