Exide battery. Best bang for the buck unless you're running extra wiring for an upgraded sound system.

You can't go wrong with a Yuasa battery, if they make one for your car.

The OEM battery in my '07 Fit lasted 8 years.
The OEM battery in my '12 Civic started leaking after 2.5 years. Was replaced under warranty with another OEM unit.
That said, I've had exceptional life from Honda OEM batteries.
Others here will disagree...
My OEM battery is 4 years old and strong. Teeps is right. Yuasa batteries never seem to go bad. That's all I will put in my motorcycles. You get what you pay for with Yuasa.

Copy that!
The Yuasa I installed in my Buell XB12X, back in '06, lasted 7 years; that's after patching a 1/8" hole (I drilled in the side) with J-B Weld!

Buy from Costco! They have great batteries with really good warranty's and you can't beat the price.
Last night I found myself with a dead battery. I was hoping for an Interstate battery, but Costco was the most convenient.

I was happy to find that Costco carries Interstate batteries near me in Northern California. It wasn't that expensive either at under $80.

I replaced my G/f's with a Deka Gold 651RMF. Spins over super quick now. The factory one was slowly crapping out in the early fall and finally gave out a month or so ago. I'm sure it wont be long until mine goes, and I'll be replacing it with the same one as hers.

Do all stores give you a discounted price if you give them your old/dead battery? Or only a select few?
None that I know of. Most won't add the core charge to the total price.

I'm leaning towards getting an yellow type Optima battery. Had them before and only one issue with the red top. Some reason it was totally dead, but I think the shop left a door open all night before I picked it up the next day. Got another one under warranty.

LOL! The things I've pulled off with JB Weld is amazing and ridiculous. It's great stuff.

There are only 4 battery manufacturers in the U. S. With Yuasa, if they make one for a car, you get what you pay for.

The OEM battery for early 12-13 civics were made by Johnson Controls and mixed in there was a bad lot. A battery should last longer than 2.5 years. Idc where you live. I just had my Oem replaced under warranty after it died twice in 6 weeks. Nothing aftermarket hooked up to power.

Seems like tons of folks on here are having really short battery lives. Some have speculated that the alternators in our cars only charge under certain conditions and pretty infrequently. I don't know about you guys but I'm switching to one of those float-capable battery tenders

I had a red top in my other car years ago - wasn't anything special. Certainly not worth the price and not a lightweight.
Everyone I've spoke to recommends optima red tops. But this is mostly either gear heads or people who have ridiculous sound systems, and we live in Chicago. They say cars start up alot easier with the Optima's in the cold too.

I've had a red top in a corolla I had, and a yellow top in an 8th gen Si. Weather does not brother those types of batteries. Fires right up like its 70 degree day in winter time.

I'll be buying an optima red top in the next year or so to replace my OEM battery.
