Hmm...I spoiled my civic and just installed some PIAA Forza Hybrid wipers. I just wanted to be different. Haven't tired them yet though.

This will be the first winter for Black Betty. Haven't really had to use defrost yet. Which reminds me, I have to put the ice scrapers and snow brushes in the cars for the season. I am not going to get the snow blower down and fuel it until it's really needed though.

All of the wiper blades I've used seem to die in 3 to 6 months. The best improvement comes from using Rain-X monthly. Don't usually need to use my wipers. When I lived in Syracuse, I'd get arctic blades as the rubber boot kept them from icing up. Now I change the refills. on the stock arms.

By the way just in case anyone is wondering since I didn't see it posted here the Sedan and Coupe have different wiper blade sizes.

The Sedan has a 26" Driver's side and 22" Passenger side, while the Coupe has a 28" Driver's side and 24" Passenger side.

So, I made the mistake of throwing the entire wiper blade away when I got these Rain-X ones for free (some mail-in rebate thing) and I can't stand these wiper blades so I would like to go back to the OEM ones but I am not entirely sure what I actually need to order as there are so many things labeled on this website:

Honda Automotive Parts

I believe it is Item #'s 76620-TR0-A02 and 76630-TR0-A0
But I am not not entirely sure if I need anything else? If anybody could help that would be greatly appreciated!!!

#8 and #11 are the full blades, which is what you need.

might as well order some refills too - #9 and #10

your passenger side refill is 35 cents cheaper than mine ... no fair

Thanks so much for the fast response!

Haha I am surprised that they don't just charge the same, I mean does that 35 cents make that much of a difference? lol

I wish I'd run across this thread last week. My dealer wanted a crazy amount of money to refill my wiper blades (inflated price for the refills, plus an hour's labor charge) so I decided to do it myself.

At my local AutoZone, I found out the hard way that generic refills are too narrow for Honda's blades. The widest refills in the store are 8mm and my Civic appears to want 10mm wide refills. I ended up replacing the blades with Trico Exact Fit blades. They installed quickly, look almost the same as the factory blades and (I think) will accept the generic 8mm refills.

Fortunately, I did not discard the Honda blades, so I can put them back if I find that I don't like the Trico blades.

I'd like to replace the stock wipers with rain-x latitudes, but I can't find any information on sizing -- anyone know what size blades the 2012 EX takes?
I believe they are 22 and 26. If you have some tape measure just measure them. That should confirm the sizes.
According to the book at Auto Zone and the Trico web site, a 2012 Civic sedan uses a 26" blade for the driver's side and a 22" blade for the passenger side. The 2012 coupe uses a 28" blade for the driver's side and a 24" blade for the passenger side.

I bought a 26" and a 22" blade and they matched the size of the factory blade on my 2012 Civic LX sedan.

So I've had the Civic Ex for about a month now and I want to replace the stock wiper blades. Normally this isn't a problem for me but I looked at ours and there seems to be some sort of housing thing at encases the actual blade--quite different than any other car I've had before.
That housing part of the blades. You should be able to lift up a small tab at the hinge point and then slide the factory blade out. It's a standard J-hook mount.

The housing on the factory blade is an aerodynamic housing. I think it uses the wind to press the blade tighter against the glass. Some replacement blades have a similar housing (e.g. the Trico Exact Fit blades I got have them.) I don't think it will hurt anything if you use blades that don't have the housing.
I'm planning on changing wiper blades, should I get rid of the OEM casing?
What casing are you thinking of? If you mean the aerodynamic housing, I think they're a built-in part of the factory blade. I don't think you can remove it.

If you are talking about the factory blades themselves, I would not discard them. You might want to put them back in the future.
... if the blades, themselves, are heated, ice will not form on them, and they can do their job (maybe).
...
How do you run wires through wiper blades to heat them?
That sounds like a pretty nasty engineering challenge. I think it would be easier to just design an extra hot blower at the base of the window to keep the glass temperature above freezing. My wife's minivan (a Kia Sedona) has a "front de-icer" button that I think is designed for just that purpose.

By the way just in case anyone is wondering since I didn't see it posted here the Sedan and Coupe have different wiper blade sizes.

The Sedan has a 26" Driver's side and 22" Passenger side, while the Coupe has a 28" Driver's side and 24" Passenger side.

Those numbers in mm are as follows 650 mm Driver's side and 575 mm Passenger side for the Sedan.
Part Numbers: 76620-TR0-A02 and 76630-TR0-A02 respectively (for the entire blade assembly)

For the Coupe those numbers are 700 mm Driver's side and 600 mm Passenger side.
Part Numbers: 76620-TR0-G12 and 76630-TS8-A02 respectively (for the entire blade assembly)

You know I've had the SAME experience with OEM wiper blades working great- UNTIL this 2013 Civic - especially my DS side wiper blade- it leaves streaks- ie: unwiped arcs on the WS. Irritates the crap out of me. The WS is clean, and not scratched. I also tried applying rain-x. still streaks. Prolly gonna get some higher end aftermarket blades and swap it out. FWIW, I almost always if possible get aftermarket crap at Advance Auto parts- can usually find a 20% if not even 30% off coupon code for nearly any 'buy online pickup in store' purchase... Since I maintain several cars and a bike, as old as 1988 vintage, I buy a LOT of parts!

I added a Bosch Icon to the DS of the car (only one side) for a comparison - and yes its a significant improvement as of this AM's brief test (wiping overnight dew from the WS). I replaced the entire assembly. Kept the OEM one, which does have a more civic friendly/integrated, aerodynamic shape and its almost invisible to the driver when not in use..... In fact I do NOT like the shape/appearance of the Bosch mount- its taller than the OEM one and I see it when its in its stored (not in use) position. I have replaced blades only on numerous other vehicles, where you refill your existing framework (usually involves removing some small stainless steel retaining clips, possibly bending some sheet metal guides, retainers, etc, and sliding a blade in/out...). A quick look at the two assemblies looks as though this is possible- so that you can retain the Stock wiper blade mounting plastic part- I did not attempt this as it can also lead to trashing the wiper blade frame if done wrong.... Not sure if I'll return the pricey Bosch or not- and look for a refill only for the stock frame....

The wipers on my car are now two years old and were getting a little too streaky for my own good. Since using Rain-x now, however, they basically wipe like new.
