So 12 pages and no REAL answer. I don't want to unplug a wire or buy a faux seat belt clip. I just want to "turn the key" a few times to disable it like in my previous cars.

I was so sick of listening to everyone's opinions. This is NOT what this thread was for.

ONE LOVE.

If you don't want to unplug a wire or buy a faux seat belt clip (which are two 'answers'), then I guess you'll have to deal with it lol Not trying to be a jerk, but those are the only two options you have atm.

I guess they arrrrre answers. lol. You're not a jerk. But why isn't there a way to do it by turning your key in the ignition so many times like I've done in my other vehicles?!

I did it!

How "someone" disabled a 2012 Honda Civic seat belt chime...

First they slid the seat back and unbolted the seat belt receiver with a 14mm and pulled it up on the seat to work on it, then they opened it up with a butter knife ...

then slide off both pieces...

then located the metal piece that holds the sensor in place...

Then the sensor just slides right off...

then put the metal plate back on, just in case you'd like to reinstall the annoying device...

then snap the plastic pieces back together with the sensor hanging out and bolt it back on...

I hope this help relieve stress in someones life!

Disable annoying seat belt chime in a 2012 Honda Civic...

First unbolt the receiver and set it on the seat so you can work on it.

Open it up with a butter knife. Slide both plastic pieces off.

Locate and remove the metal sensor clip.

Slide the sensor off.

Put the sensor clip back on in case you'd like to reinstall the annoying device.
reconnect the plastic pieces with the sensor hanging out on the side.
Bolt it back to the seat.

You forgot the last step - put those trampolines along the path of your car to catch you when you go through the windshield.
For most people probably. This would have come in handy for me when I still lived in the country though. I had a quarter mile driveway and it was really annoying to have to keep throwing on and off the buckle every time I needed to drive down the trash to the dumpsters. No problem now that I'm back in the city however.
