What is the format, file size, and dimensions of the image ?
Root directory means not in a folder. I'm not sure, but the flash drive may have to be formated in FAT32

• When importing wallpaper files, the image must be
in the USB flash drive’s root directory. Images in a
folder cannot be imported.
• The file format of the image that can be imported
is BMP (bmp) or JPEG (jpg).
• The individual file size limit is 2 MB.
• The maximum image size is 1,920 x 936 pixels. If
the image size was less than 480 x 234 pixels, the
image is displayed in the middle of the screen with
the extra area appearing in black.
• The number of files that can be selected is up to
255.
• Up to 64 characters can be displayed in the file name

Hey everyone! I've been searching through a few forums and not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I'm resizing my pictures to w: 1920 x h:936 pixels but I still see a black line on the top and bottom of the picture. Is there some other way to re size or does it just depend on the picture?

*Using a macbook in case someone suggested a program. What I do is open the image in "preview" -> edit -> and re size from there.

Thanks!

Stupid ******* electronics. 1920x936 was to big so I downsized to 1500x812. I followed the whole thing right up through 'select as wallpaper' and it doesn't show up on the screen.

I kinda doubt the iMid's display is as large as 1500x812 or 1920x936 anyways.

Plus, factor in a viewing distance of about three feet or so ... resolution doesn't have to be high when viewing such a small screen from that distance.

You're absolutely right. I think the 1920x936 was a guideline as to the proportions. The picture doesn't need to be nearly that big. As it turned out, it was too big for my car's i-mid to upload.

The problem I have now is that I had a successful upload of the 1500x812 version of the picture. I know this because the screen showed the picture after it uploaded. When I select it for wallpaper, however, it doesn't come up on the screen. Is there anything else I have to do/select to make it appear? Shouldn't it be background on the imid screen no matter what is being used (radio, etc)?
