I paid 30 something for mine from someone on the forum. I feel/hear a difference without it and I think it looks good in red. If you can get a used one I think it's a good deal. Even if the intake temp is 1 degree cooler or the volume is increased a little it's a good value for 30-50 dollars. Just my 2¢

Just wondering if you ever got the TBS. I have the same intake and was wondering if you liked it or noticed any performance differences?
Nah, I never did order one...probably still will, I ended up dropping some cash on some appearance mods instead. Eventually I'll install one though.

I have the ingen cai with the p2r tbs, i love the sound the car makes now, but since i installed the tbs and intake at the same time, i cannot tell if the "whistle" is from the intake or tbs, but i believe it's from the intake

It's more about increasing the plenum volume that supposedly gives the hp boost, and if you don't think $70ish is worth 5hp at the wheels then you shouldn't mod a single thing on your car for performance. Dollar per hp you can't do much better providing the numbers hold true. CAI intake ~300 for 10-15hp, exhaust ~650 for about the same, downpipe ~400+ for about the same, Flashpro with tune ~800-1000 for around 20hp.

Breaking that down with the spacer, your hp is costing $14 per. Intake roughly $23 per, exhaust roughly $50 per, downpipe roughly $30 per, Flashpro roughly $45 per. Can throw in numbers for a supercharger also which costs lets say 3500 for say 50hp which is $70 per.

EDIT: I got mine for 68, but even if you spent 100 it would still be the cheapest hp per dollar.
Does this mean if i stacked spacers and spacers on top of each other I would be gaining hp for my buck?! lOl jk.
anyways, I was intrigued by the dyno results and I do very much agree with you on your post.

Just information for others who do not know what these spacers actually do.. they allow a larger volume of air to be stored compared to the stock's throttle body's volume; therefore, your engine has to provide more fuel(when the driver is peddling for faster acceleration) to compensate for the amount of air that is available. More of these two being delivered to each piston allows your engine to work harder/faster allowing you to reach your torque at a lower rpm, thus resulting in faster acceleration. I'm not sure about how it affects HP entirely, but you will feel a faster acceleration at lower rpm's.
The way it saves gas(1-3mpg?givetake), according to resources, is that the engine has air ready at it's demand, i don't know much further from here, but it does make sense that since the volume has increased, there'll be more to spare and also not taking in air less often.

For those of you who have the p2r throttle body spacer, the little black screw that goes on the side, were you able to thread that black plastic plug all the way down? I got most of it threaded as much as i could with pliers, started to strip the plug a little if i tried to thread it anymore.

I couldn't. But it plugs up the hole good. Mine came in white :p. I was expecting this spacer to at least have grooves in it. My last air raid had spirals and made a nice whistle under part throttle

I could not, the thread between the plastic plug and the hole seemed mismatched.

Hope your hungry.

Whether it makes power or not, there is more evidence to say it does.
Your saying that's a stock 8th with and without tbs, even assuming its an si I don't get how a completely stock 8th gen is making 190+ WHP??

Just wondering. Will the 8th gen p2r tbs fit in the 9th gen?

So I installed the spacer, the car feels more responsive, quick.. all of good things, i hear the whistle (once its at 5000 + rpm)...

the bad news, my check engine light turned on... anybody experienced this problem?

And yes, i did plug in the sensor. If the weather is not too cold tomorrow, ill try to take everything apart and install it back on... hopefully the light will go away. Please help.

Thank you for the simple math! Looking at it this way, it should be everyone who is on a budget(99.999% of us) first performance mod.

Just a heads up before anyone just jumps in and starts buying things..........You WILL NOT gain 10-15hp from an intake, downpipe or exhaust; not even from all of them WITHOUT A TUNE. If you want to add 45hp plan on spending 5K plus on all these parts and a tune plus forced induction. Also be aware that if you do want to add massive power to this car the 17" front wheel drive may not let you utilize all the power you plan on paying for. I love mod's too but be aware most of them should be for your own preference and sound. But this is just my take on it, more power to anyone who figures out how to gain 45hp from less than a 2k investment; please show me proof and I will do the same!

according to my eDyno I gained about 30 hp from just a downpipe and intake resonator swap, assuming 15% loss ...

stock calibrations

All I have is a Full Race Catless DP and Resonator Delete with stock everything else and I definitely know my car is quite a bit faster. How? My nephew also has a 9th Si. I pull on him every time. And I used to lose to my friend's FRS. He loses to me now.. until he starts modding his lol.

Yes a tune will increase the performance quite a bit, but you still gain decent power even without a tune. Your A/F ratio might be a little messed up, but over time the ECU irons that out "somewhat."

As for the TB spacer.. I plan to pick one up and a K&N SRI. I do not plan on getting any type of Axle back exhaust unless I can find one with a decent exhaust tip (stock looking).

I have to call you out on this.

Exhaust, DP, Intake, TBS, and tune provided 215.25whp which assuming a 15% loss equates to 250+ crank HP.

$400 exhaust
$280 DP
$195 Intake
$50 TBS
$765 FP+Vit tune

Just under $1.7k for 50+ HP on a naturally aspirated motor is pretty darn good...

So you don't think a SRI will give any extra power without $800 FP and $150 tune? If that's not what you mean, could you explain in further detail please.
Not sure where you are buying a fp from if you are having to spend $800. I had the KN sri on for about 2 months without a tune. Sure....sounded cool. Once I got over the cool sound factor I realized how much of nothing it really did. Bogged down more than anything else.
