First off I do not have any pictures. I went to use my camera and the batteries were dead. I was already starting to do the change when I noticed. I did not go buy new batteries. Pictures really aren't needed though as it's easy.
You can find how to do an oil change in the manual, but thought I'd post the information here too.
Honda says you do not have to replace the oil filter every time, but I personally do. It will be up to you if you change it every time or not.
What you will need:
4 quarts of oil
oil filter
drain plug ring washer (You do not need to replace this every time, but is recommended)
filter wrench (65 mm)
17mm wrench
small flat head or phillips screwdriver
oil catch pan
funnel
paper towels, a rag, and gloves if wanted
Steps
1. First get your car warm which will make it easier for the oil to drain.
2. Use ramps, jack stands, or a lift to raise your car. (dont forget to apply the e brake for safety)
3. Pop your hood and open the oil cap on the top of the engine.
4. Remove the silver sheet metal panel from under the car. You will see the large flat silver screws that will need to be removed using a small flat head screwdriver.
5. Place oil drain pan under under the drain plug, the oil will shoot out a so make sure there's plenty of room.
6. Use the 17mm wrench to remove the drain plug and drain the oil. You cant miss it. It's marked "engine oil" with an arrow pointing to it. It will shoot out fast, but will take awhile to drain all of the way so be patient.
7. Remove the oil filter which is on the passengers side. Like the drain plug it also easy to see and you can't miss it. Using gloves and paper towels will come in handy at this point because it will be very messy once you loosen the filter to remove it as it is at an angle. If you have a funnel that will fit underneath it that would be a great idea too.
8. After all of the oil is done draining, dip a finger in the old oil in the catch pan and run it around the rubber gasket to moisten it and make a better seal then put on the new filter by hand and then give it about a 1/4 turn with the wrench. Do not over tighten the filter.
9. Remove the old washer from the drain plug and put the new one on (you don't have to replace the washer every time but is recommended) then re-install the plug with the 17mm wrench.
10. Use a funnel and pour the new oil into the top. The car states that it takes 3.9 quarts of oil, so you can safely put all 4 quarts into the engine.
11. Run the engine and make sure that the oil light goes out and check the dipstick to make sure the oil is at the appropriate level. Check for leaks under the car.
12. Put the metal panel back on under the car.
13. To reset the oil life meter (LX AND EX models), press menu on the steering wheel and cycle up to vehicle information then go to maintenance. Follow the prompt on the screen to reset. Easy as that.
You are now done. Clean up and don't forget dispose of the old oil properly.
