New member with a question!

Hey guys, new to the group! I’ve had my 2015 si sedan since August 2017 and took me till now to finally give up on saving the extended warranty and finally start working on my car lol... My question though is, has anyone ever run 17x9 +45 rpf1’s and have them on without any spacers? or if anything at all 5mm spacers? I’ve searched and searched for information but every time I thought I found something, the person went with +35’s. I wish I could have made it that simple aswell but my wheel supplier could only get me sbc’s in +45. I also like how the rear sits in a lot more with the +45’s so I’m willing to make the fitment work regardless. Tire size is 235/40/17 neovas, car is lowered on ktuned k1’s and with camber arms in the rear if this information helps at all. Thanks in advance!

You need to specify what tire you plan on running. Each tire company and model have different tread width.

For example, Toyo Proxy R888's trend width is 8.8", while Kumho ECSTA V720 trend width 8.6". Both of these tires are 245/40R17.

Here are some example fitment.
Thank you for your input.
I'm not sure whether to go with, Firestone Indy 500 or Dunlop Direzza ZIII

OP, I have 17x9 +45mm RPF1's with 245/40-17 tires. I'm dropped to about a finger width at each corner. I only get very mild rubbing of the wheel-well liner on big dips in the road. It broke off a clip inside each wheel well, but nothing else. I have my front Camber set almost completely to 0. I need to reset to maybe -0.5 r -1, and the rubbing will disappear. I track my car, so that would help with traction as well.

I have 3mm spacers up front as well.

I've got I believe the same wheel size as you, except 8 in wide rim. I'm running 245/45/17. No rubbing yet, but there's no way I could lower car.

The more narrow width changes the discussion entirely. The main concern with a 9" +45 is possible rubbing of the strut hence Civi9 using a spacer.

Nice! I bought 3mm spacers as well. As for my drop, I don't think I'll be "slammed" since my driveway isn't flat. Thank you! Should post pics soon of my setup.

Thank you guys, hopefully, if weather permits, I should have my BC coils and wheels installed.

I don't think I've really seen this addressed (or maybe it's a non-issue on the 9th gens), but what is everyone doing with their fender liner once the fenders are rolled?

I'm thinking with the setup that I want to eventually get I'll have to roll the fenders, but I don't want to delete the liner or have it just flapping around. I want to retain the liner, but not have it look janky.

I was about to ask the same thing. I've got a leaking shock, and as much as I like the stock set-up, I'm curious what my options are as I don't want my car lowered (or not much).

planning on keeping my daily stock height and looking at 10th gen si wheels.
do you guys think I could get away with a 50 tire or is that just asking for trouble?
and if so and I end up going with a 9th gen si, could I get away with a 55 tire?

This could actually be its own thread, as it is unique sub-topic of fender rolling. Let's see what happens here, and I could create a thread and move the relevant posts over there.

What car is this for? The aspect ratio is relative to width and diameter.
If you are referring to stock 18s, 50 series would be way big.
On 17s, i ran 205/50 in the winter and they worked well.

Oh I thought it was only relative to diameter. But yeah on stock 18s. You don't think you could have gotten away with 55 on the 17s?

At stock ride height you can pretty much run whatever. It is not recommended to go anything over 3% larger than stock though. You are going to throw off the speedometer.
I've seen a few examples of 225/45/18 but they are going to be pretty tall.

Soon lowering my 2014 si sedan on megan racing lowering springs, looking to buy rims as well. Probabaly some Enkei ts6 or some other work te37 reps. I was hoping to be able to fit 18x8.5 +35 for a nice flush fit, do I have to roll fender or should I be fine?

You probably will need a fender roll.
Case in point - I recently had my 2014 Si sedan lowered on Swift springs, with 17x8" wheels on a +37 offset, and they poke out a smidge. No rubbing yet, but I drive very gingerly. Your proposed wheels are ~13mm wider, and coupled with 2mm less positive offset, will poke out 8.5mm more than mine. Well over a quarter-inch is significant.
